NAFA Anniversary Fashion Show

GUCCI FASHION SHOW

We were dressers for the evening. Was backstage all along dressing the models so I couldn't see the show. I fell in love with the golden Gucci oxfords and belts. They were so tempting to bring home. :( We were assigned to models. Abby's model, Jimmy from the US was cute. Mine's from Russia, Renoko, very shy boy. Other friends dressed the female models of course. I tried on the Gucci hat. We had to steam the clothes about 4 times throughout the preparation.
I felt like my model's mum. Roar.

Just before the show, everyone was jittery and excited. I had to memorise the clothes which go onto my model. Everything was a rush. Dressed them, final round check, hairspray, adjustment, they went out to walk, they come back, CHANGE, final check, touch up, go out to walk, then walk once more, then finish. So fast.

After the show, we came out and took pictures at the after party. Champagne was good, music was good.

Puffy tops go with tight bottoms and tight tops can go with either puffy bottoms or tight bottoms. Try to focus on only one part of your body. If top is fancy, go for simple bottom and vice versa. If both top and bottom's simple and basic, top off with an exciting necklace and a belt. Walk out of the house with good posture and stand tall and straight.


All information are only applicable to my sister (unless you really look like her):

You have a beautiful bust size. wear ruffled tops and details at neckline. (Paired with a plain bottom) Try not to wear turtle neck tops or chokers.

Wear long and thin ear rings to extend neck. Avoid chunky and enormous heavy ear rings for your face shape.

Wear dark coloured, thicker belts at the waist line to create a small waisted hour glass looking silhouette.

Use your mascara. It can transform your life. You have really attractive God-given eye lashes.

Wear chunkier heels to balance out thicker calves. Avoid stilettoes and straps at the ankles. We want to create an illusion of longer legs by not having a strap cutting the feet and legs into 2. If not, it screams 'Miss Piggy!'

I'm always wishing for thin legs to carry off the straps at the ankles though. I have a pair of heels with straps which i hide under my long pants and I'll never wear those shoes with a skirt! NEVER!

For my sister

I have to blog. My sister's in Australia, Perth now. It's by request that I send her a Fashion/ Beauty tip once a week, and in turn, she'll send me a Survival tip to help me with my shallow knowledge in technology and first aid.

Beauty tip of the week: This is something I pay much attention to. Starting young would help in the long run. Here goes.. Always wash face lightly, brushing face in an upwards circular motion to counter attack the gravity. Prevents skin from being saggy. Push forehead skin towards hair line to prevent wrinkles. Try not to frown at all to prevent permanent frown lines (Take a look at our senior citizens--- the happy ones without the 2/3 lines between their brows are usually the better looking ones). This one is just a line from Ugly Betty I love though it might not exactly apply to reality: 'Stop Laughing. You'll Get Wrinkles.' Take care of your face. Dont over exert it. Don't apply unnecessary force on it. Try not to sleep with your face down. It creates unneccesary sleep lines which is difficult to get rid of. Always remove makeup thoroughly before going to sleep (Tyra Banks is exception). Sleep early to prevent pimples and water retention. All in all, the face is one of the most vulnerable, most recognisible, most important and most sensitive part of the body. Must take care.

Life is happy and gay. :)

1 month of holidays to go.
I cant wait for school to start!
That'll be like art lessons everyday?
Right? Right? :D

Yay!

Throw away the Science, Chinese and Humanities :)

Belinda's still a sweet companion for the 7 months holiday.
Recently, we went to clarke quay for dinner
at the Indian Arabian restaurant/bar called,
'Sahara Bar'

let me advertise for them:



this is the river view from where we sat at.

the boats come by every 10 mins.



We came to eat.
not exactly to look at boats.

so.. here's the Food.




awesome tasting $5 mango juice.





We ordered all naan cos it's more towards the restaurant's theme,
rather than the seafood/chicken.

We ate happily.

And accomplishment for the month,
I made something edible for my most charming and romantic Mr. Boyfriend!
(with my dear sister's help and superb baking skills)

The brownies were pretty good. :D
I'm glad he loved it.



I decorated it.
The icing was very sweet.
(Thank you Jonathan Lian for the icing! :) i managed to squeeze the icing out of the tube with much arm strength and determination.)
